Allow eight countries to participate in the ICJ proceedings against Myanmar
On July 3, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) announced that it had admitted Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the Maldives as interveners in the genocide case brought by The Gambia against Myanmar.
The intervention was admitted under the ICJ Statute, granting requests submitted in November 2023. Under the decision, these states may submit written observations on the case.
