Requesting an Arrest Warrant for the Military Leader Overthe Rohingya Genocide
The International Criminal Court (ICC) announced on November 27 that it has issued an arrest warrant for the leader of the military junta for the genocide of the Rohingyas in Rakhine State in 2016-17.
In the ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan's application to issue an arrest warrant, after conducting an investigation, there was strong evidence that the Myanmar military had committed these crimes with the support of the Burmese military, the police, the Border Guard, and non-Rohingya people, the judges must decide whether the application was meeting with the criteria of the court, and if accepted, the ICC office must proceed with the arrest by the law.
