Military Regime Executes Massacres in Budalin
The National Unity Government (NUG) announced on October 22 that the brutal killings of innocent civilians, the burning down of houses, and the abductions as human shields, committed by the terrorist military regime on October 11 to 20 in Budalin Township, Sagaing Region were an army tactic that had been used for years to exact revenge on the armed resistance forces of various ethnic groups.
The statement issued by the Ministry of Human Rights (MOHR) of NUG stated that on September 30, after the terrorist military regime’s column under the Northwest Military Command were casualties, near the Sipar Village of Budalin Township, the terrorist military regime raid, torched, killed, and aerial strikes the 17 villages and wards in the township, and at least 24 civilians were brutally killed. On October 17, six civilians of Sipar village were cut into pieces and hung on the fences of the houses, and the abductions of no less than 60 civilians as human shields were perpetrated as military tactics.
If the military regime’s impunity continues to be allowed, the mechanism of brutal military strategy, tactics, and ideology will not only last longer, but will become bolder, therefore, MOHR urged the international community to make efforts to bring about justice.
