Palaung State Liberation Front
The Palaung National Front (PNF) was formed on January 12, 1976, and on January 12, 1976, the name was changed to PSLA.
On April 21, 1991, PSLA had a ceasefire agreement with the State Law and Order Restoration Council (SLORC), and the youths who did not accept that agreement established the Palaung State Liberation Front/ Ta'ang National Liberation Army (PSLF) on January 12, 1992. In 2009, the third conference of the PSLF approved the formation of the Ta'ang National Liberation Army-TNLA and in October 2011, the TNLA was initiated with the help of the KIA.
The objective of PSLF/TNLA are :
(a) The liberation of the Ta'ang national from oppression
(b) Building the Ta'ang state that guarantees democracy and human rights
(c) Building a democratic federal state that guarantees self-determination.
Political processes include (a) national liberation and statehood; (b) Building national unity; And (c) building political institutions.
The chairman of the PSLF/TNLA is Brigadier General Tar Eik Phone. TNLA has 7 brigades and 35 battalions.
The PSLF/TNLA is one of the stakeholders opposing the coup. Fighting continues with the SAC forces to this day. In collaboration with the People's Defence Forces-Mandalay (MDY-PDF), and Launched "Kanaung Operation" since July 2023.
On May 28, 2023, Kachin Independence Organization (KIO) and Palaung State Liberation Front (PSLF) announced that they will continue to recognize and implement the Perpetual Alliance Agreement.
PSLF/TNLA is a member of the Federal Political Negotiation and Consultative Committee (FPNC).
In the statement of the FPNCC working meeting held in Panghkam on March 16, 2023, regarding Myanmar's internal affairs, it was mentioned that they believed in the idea that the minority ethnic groups in the border areas of Myanmar were committed to building a comprehensive peace with the center Burma and establishing a federal democratic Union, and that idea could only implement with the strength and ability of minority ethnic groups.
