Three ethnic resistance organizations coalition Norther Alliance launched Operation 1027 on 27 October to fight against the military junta and its militia.

Protection of the people, preventing the violence of the military junta, uprooting the military dictatorship, and eradicating of online gambling are objectives of the military campaign. Operations have started in townships such as Lashio, Hsenwi, Kyaukme, Kunlon, Kutkai, Laukkai and Chinshwehaw with the subsequent announcement of closures of Lashio-Chinshwehaw and Lashio-Muse roads by the alliance group.

The MNDAA has released an open letter to the public, carrying the message to the military junta's soliders to lay down their arms and join the movement.
