The Mon State Federal Council declares that armed struggle is the only path to national equality

MSFC

On February 13, the Mon State Federal Council (MSFC) called on the Mon people, both within the country and abroad, to join and collaborate with revolutionary forces, as the only way to achieve political power through equal rights and self-determination is by armed struggle, as there is no other option.

In the 78th Mon National Day statement, it was emphasized that, no matter how much they preserve their literature, language, and culture, if they do not have political power, they will continue to face the extinction of their national identity and ethnicity daily. The Myanmar military, under the 2008 constitution, not only entrenched military leadership in politics but also oppressed the pro-democracy Burmese (Burman) people, taking power from the civilian government in 2021. The statement further declared that the revolution currently fighting against the military dictatorship is not about gaining power for a group or a party, but is a struggle to establish a federal democratic union, which is what the people desire.
