Kachin Political Interim Coordination Team
From the meeting of domestic and diaspora Kachin organizations held from March 9th to 11th, 2021, the Kachin Political Interim Coordination Team (KPICT) was established to coordinate interim political activities on behalf of the Kachin people.
The main purpose is to coordinate the political goals of the Kachin people. In order to fully participate in the formation, KPICT was formed by a 15-member committee with three representatives from each of the five member associations. The main objectives of KPICT are based on the current political situation in Myanmar, to affirm that national sovereignty is derived from people, to end authoritarianism and to promulgate a genuine Federal Union, and to partner with domestic and international organizations that share our political goals.
KPICT signed an interim Kachin government formation agreement with the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) On May 27, 2021.
KPICT has sent the proposed name lists of one vice president, minister, and deputy minister. Although KPICT participated in the National Unity Consultative Council, but it stopped participating in 2022.
The secretary of KPICT is Salang Nsang Gum San.
