Ghalon Column Reveals Comprehensive Cooperation with Mon State Liberation Army
The Galon Column which had withdrawn from the the People's Defense Forces (PDF), the Ministry of Defense (MoD) of the National Unity Government (NUG) announced on February 10 that they would fully cooperate under the Chain of Command (COC) of the Mon Liberation Army (MLA) to continue to end the military dictatorship and to carry out military operations.
The Galon Column was established on March 25, 2022, in the areas of the KNDO Battalion (6), and Brigade (6) of the Karen National Union (KNU). It collaborated with various alliances of ethnic armed groups under the 3rd Sub-military region, and 2nd Military Region military of NUG-MoD, engaging in military operations together.
On November 5, 2024, the Galon Column announced that, under the NUG-MoD’s command, it no longer wished to continue its responsibilities, and therefore, after submitting a withdrawal request, it officially received permission to leave on January 29, 2025.

Introducing the Arrangement for Transitional Constitution (AFTA)
As the Spring Revolution has championed "ending military dictatorship and building a federal democratic union", discussions on the constitution have been taking place since February 2021. Revolutionary forces have rejected and opposed the 2008 Constitution, controversially adopted under military dictatorship, and revolutionary organizations have declared it void. During the revolution, Parts 1 and 2 of the Federal Democracy Charter have been issued and used as a constitutional framework. The roadmap set out in the charter also includes, as one of its stages, drafting a constitution for the post-revolutionary transition period during the revolution itself.
