General Strike Coordination Body
General Strike Coordination Body (GSCB) was established in on March 30, 2021. GSCB was formed with strike committees, and Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) forces from various geographical and ethnic backgrounds in Myanmar, sharing the same common goals.
The basic goals of the GSCB are to eradicate all sorts of dictatorship including the military dictatorship; to completely abrogate the 2008 Constitution; to build a federal democratic union, and to relealse the detained political leaders and student activists. The values of GSCB are human rights, federal democracy; social justice; transitional justice, elimination of discrimination and protection of minority rights. GSCB has three working committees which are information and communication committee, coordination committee and liaison committee. GSCB has 27 members organization.
GSCB is composed of 88 generation, 96-97 generation, 2007 generation, 2015 generation to 2021-Gen-Z generation.
GSCB led the "We apologize Campaign" on the 4th anniversary of Rohingya Genocide "Rohingya Memorial Day" which was held on August 25, 2021. GSCB also released a statement that they fully supported and would coordinated on the statement of 183 organization about Comprehensive Economic Sanction (CES) on November 1, 2021. They organized the anti-military dictatorship strike forces from the ground and held the first conference of the GSCB from June 5 to 7, 2022.
GSCB is a member organization of the National Unity Consultative Council.
