Indonesian Foreign Ministry Says It Met with Actors Engaged in Myanmar Affairs
Indonesia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it held meetings in Jakarta from November 20 to 22 with key stakeholders in Myanmar affairs, with the aim of pushing for implementation of ASEAN's Five-Point Consensus and holding an inclusive dialogue to comprehensively resolve the Myanmar crisis.
The meetings were attended by various groups representing Myanmar's Spring Revolution, representatives of the terrorist junta, and the PPST, which represents the ethnic armed organizations (EAOs) that signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA). Indonesia currently holds the ASEAN chair, and representatives of the government of Laos, which will take over the chair in 2024, also attended. The groups were met separately, and the National Unity Government (NUG) was among the Spring Revolution forces. During its ASEAN chairmanship, Indonesia has held more than 180 engagements with representatives of the terrorist junta and other forces.
