The Chin National Front (CNF) was formed on March 20, 1988 to fight for self-determination and to establish an independent federal union in Myanmar . The armed wing of the Chin National Front is (Chin National Army - CNA). The headquarters is in Camp Victoria, Thantlang (Chin land). Their active area is Tlangpi Village tract, Dawn village tract and Zaangtlang village tract. The CNF has an estimated strength of over 200.

CNF is calling for the protection of the Chin's territory and national rights, and for building a future federal union based on a democratic system.

The chairman of CNF is Pu Zing Cung and the Vice Chairman is Pu Than Ning Kee. The CNF is one of the 10 ethnic revolutionary organizations that signed the NCA.

The objectives of CNF are

1. To protect the territory and national rights of the Chin people

2. To protect the lives and property of the Chin people

3. To build an army that is full of the characteristics of the national army

4. To protect the policies of the Chin National Front.

Chin National Front issued a statement on the current political situation that CNF condemned the Military's seizing power on the 1st of February 2021 as it contradicted to the building of the Federal Union and democratic standards. CNF also condemned the military violent attacks on Chin People in Mindat township on May 15, 2021. On May 29, 2021, with mutual recognition and mutual respect, the National Unity government and Chin National Front signed the bilateral agreement which includes the anti-dictatorship revolution and the implementation of federal democracy on the basis of equality, and other important cooperation issues.

On October 18, 2021, the joint general secretary of the CNF/CNA said that there was no NCA to look after, and the NCA had been destroyed by the military, according to their NCA experience, even the results of the NCA could not be implemented before the coup, so it was no longer possible to implement the results of the NCA this day.

On May 6, 2022, CNF released the statement regarding the military's invitation to the ethnic armed resistance organizations for peace talks, it stated that the political crises of the Union should be resolved by political dialogue inclusion of all relevant stakeholders and CNF would stand with the people. On June 8, 2023, CNF released a military notification.

On September 22, 2023, CNF issued the statement that a total of 108 people from CNF, Chin Chin Hluttaw representatives, and Representatives from the township and regional organizations attended the Pre-plenary meeting for Chinland Council at a border location, which was successfully held from September 7-9, they had discussed to convene a conference to develop the Chinland constitution within the revolutionary period, to organize Chinland Council and to establish the three pillars of legislation, executive, and judiciary in Chinland, and the Working Committee for China Council Conference (WCCCC) was established for the organization of the conference and WCCCC was working on the drafting of the Chinland Constitution.
