Strike committees called on Buddhist monks to join the public in the Spring Revolution by boycotting the military junta in their statement in commemoration of the 16th anniversary of Saffron Sangha Movement.

The Saffron Sangha Movement was started by Buddhist monks in 2007 in response to the general crisis faced by the public members under the rule of the military junta. The statement also praised the monks who are still boycotting the junta and urged others to join too.
