In some parts of the country, a Buddhist monks’ boycott, “Pattanikkujjana” was starting to fight against the terrorist military group as in 1990, 2007 so the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC) has urged the people to join together through mass movement on July 19, Martyr's Day. 

The statement stated that the terrorist group had broken even the title of protection of religion that they portrayed with their own atrocities. Also, it stated that a need for unity among all opposition parties, as the military dictatorship is the root cause of the daily oppression and hardships faced by the country's people, and the only way to end it is by victory.
