Kawlin People's Administration Begins

The National Unity Government (NUG) announced that, following the capture of Kawlin Township in Kawlin District, Sagaing Region, under Military Region Command No. 1, people's administration had begun from December 3.

The people's administration will operate in six sectors: administration; defence and law enforcement; public services; the judiciary; management of banking; and matters concerning Non-CDM staff. The defence and law enforcement sector will be jointly handled by the People's Defence Force (PDF), the People's Defence Teams (PaKaFa), the People's Security Teams (PaLaFa) and the People's Police Force, while appropriate judges will be appointed and courts opened for the civilian judiciary.
