Myanmar's pro-democracy movement celebrated the International Democracy Day on 15 September.

Acting President Duwa Lashi La and Prime Minister Mahn Win Khaing Than of National Unity Government (NUG) delivered speeches at the ceremony organized by Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH). NUG also posted messages from members of People's Defence Forces on its social media to celebrate the occasion. The day was celebrated since 2008 and this year was celebrated with the theme "Empowering the next Generation". The ceremony organized by CRPH also featured speeches and messages from ASEAN Parliamentarians for Human Rights, Inter-Parliamentary Union, European Parliament and International IDEA Myanmar.

National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC) shared its faith in youth as a force for leading initiatives for justice, constituent assemby, national equality and self-determination in the future of the Federal Union in its commemoration message.
