EROs release positions on NCA

Three EROs,  who are signatories of the National Ceasefire Agreement, announced on October 27 that the proposal and promotion of the Joint Monitoring Committee (JMC) as a neutral organization by diplomatic groups and UN organizations in the country is a matter of concern.

The Karen National Union (KNU), Chin National Front (CNF) and the All Myanmar Democratic Students Front (ABSDF) addressed the statement to the United Nations Country Team (UNCT), United Nations Special Envoy (UNSE), ASEAN member countries and the Joint Peace Fund (JPF).

Disappointed with promotion of JMC as a neutral organization, the group said it only encouraged the use of humanitarian aid as a weapon and the NCA has been annulled by the coup. There can be no dialogue if they continue to attack the public and commit human rights violations, the open letter also stated.
