The Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) announced on January 24 that the battalions under the terrorist military group stationed in Karenni state needed to defect to the public side and would be given the right to return to their current positions and special benefits for defectors  who have defected with their families according to the defection plan.

The KNDF has established a definite policy to eliminate those who have committed war crimes such as mass arson and destruction of people'ss homes in Karenni State. The infantry and artillery battalions have been especially encouraged to stand with the Karenni people and defect to the people's side in order to oppose the tyrants in support of the long-term residents of the area.
