People's Liberation Students' Force
After the 2021 military coup, student youths from across the country who had taken on whatever duties they could during the Spring Revolution, such as protest columns, shield teams, supporting armed revolutionary forces and CDM staff, supporting political prisoners, and underground (UG) work, began receiving military training in their respective areas from late April 2021, and founded the People Liberation Student Force on February 6, 2022.
For political leadership, the People Liberation Student Organization was also formed. It was founded on three basic principles: (1) uprooting military dictatorship, (2) building a federal democratic union, and (3) the liberation of all oppressed peoples of all ethnicities.
After opening military training in Karenni, the People Liberation Student Force (PLSF) issued a political declaration in November 2022. The declaration includes sections on the reasons for forming the organization and the force, basic principles, general political positions, the definition of the enemy class, and allies. Its general political positions cover a progressive political stance, fighting the "three militaries", fighting class oppression and narrow chauvinism, the emergence of a genuine federal union guaranteeing national equality and self-determination, and its belief in alliance-building.
The PLSF has fought alongside revolutionary forces in Karenni on the Loikaw and Demoso fronts. It also took part in some battles in Sagaing in 2024. In Yedashe, Bago Region, from October 19 to November 2, 2024, it attacked the junta together with its allies, the Myay Latt Bamar Defence Force and Toungoo District Column 3501. The PLSF is not under the National Unity Government's Ministry of Defence but stands as a separate force, and usually operates in connection with revolutionary forces in the areas where it is based. In a notice issued in November 2022, it stated that it will join hands as firm allied brothers with everyone who wants to fight military dictatorship, and will systematically build and fight on both political and military fronts in its organization- and force-building work.
