With the 1027 operation, the Arakan Army (AA) began a series of offensives that included sieges of military bases and towns. On February 24, 2024, Buthidaung was attacked, and completely captured on May 18.
The terrorist military junta issued a statement on September 26 offering the Ethnic Resistance Organizations (EROs) and the People's Defense Forces (PDFs) to solve political problems politically. This is the second such offer since the terrorist coup d'état on February 1, 2021, and the first being made in April 2022 by the leader of the terrorist junta, himself on television. According to the media reports, the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) released a statement with photos confirming that the Northeast Regional Command of military regime in Lashio City, Northern part of the Shan State has been completely occupied by the afternoon of August 3rd.
