Karen National Union (KNU) distanced itself from the meeting between its ex-chairman and the junta chief in Nay Pyi Taw in its Central Executive Committee statement on 2 October.

Ex-chairman of KNU Saw Mutu Say Phoe ws accompanied by former members of CEC Padoh Saw Roger Khin and former chairman of Doopalaya District Padoh Saw Shwe Maung.

KNU officially announced in a press conference marking "First 100 Days: KNU in New Era" on 10 August. Despite being NCA signatory, KNU announced the agreement was annulled since the military staged the coup.
