BEGSC Urges Adoption of a Policy for CDM Students
On December 14, the Central Executive Committee of the Basic Education General Strike Committee (BEGSC-CEC) issued an appeal urging the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC), the National Unity Government (NUG), the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and all concerned to draft and adopt, together with those who should be involved, a policy for students taking part in the CDM. It stressed that restoring justice for these students is important and that the policy should cover their educational opportunities, guarantees of education, and physical and psychological rehabilitation.
Policies concerning the CDM and other CDM groups now exist, and while they include the term "CDM students", they contain no specific provisions for them.
