The Arakan Army (AA) announced that it successfully captured the Maung Shwe Lay Naval Base—officially known as the Central Naval Diving and Salvage Depot (CNDSD)—located in Thandwe Township, Rakhine State, on the night of September 5.

The naval base, situated between Maung Shwe Lay and Kwin Wine villages, had a stationed force of over 1,200 troops and was heavily fortified with large artillery units positioned both within the base and along the coastline to defend against attacks. After nearly a month of continuous assaults, AA was able to seize control of the strategic naval base.
